The CR Photography Annual is open to everyone involved in the creation and use of brilliant photography, whether you are a photographer (either student or professional) or a commissioner of photography.

Please note: entries into the Photography Annual 2016 are now closed.

We understand that many of you will have unpublished work, which should receive recognition as equally as published and commissioned work. This category allows students, professionals and any other form of photographer to enter.

The advertising and marketing industries understand the power of the image to tell a story and communicate an idea. This category celebrates those images and will feature campaigns (both still and moving image) in which brilliant photography works in harmony with great creative ideas and executions. You may enter fashion work into this category.

From a reportage piece to a fashion spread to a book cover, this category celebrates the best in editorial photography within magazines, newspapers and books.

The design category covers all matters of design. Including exhibitions, branding, products, CGI/retouching, this is one of our most innovative and inspiring categories.

Stock Photography

Best in Book

Our Best in Book award/s were given to those selected as providing the most outstanding 2016 entries. This category was not available to enter – all work is considered for this accolade and the winning work selected is given extra space and an editorial write-up in the front section of Creative Review’s December issue, the Photography Annual.

In addition to our five categories above, this year we introduced six new awards. Entries and winners for these awards were determined via a nominations process including CR readers, our judging panel and the CR editorial team.
